Chinese New Year of Rabbit 2023

Soon is the fifth day of 1st month in Lunar Calendar. The day is commonly known as the Festival of Po Wu (literally breaking five). According to the traditional customs, it is believed that many New Year taboos can be broken on this day. Today is birthday of the God of Fortune. On this day, people will celebrate this day with a large banquet. They will also shoot off firecracker in the attempt to get the attention of the God of Fortune, thus ensuring his favour and good fortune for the whole new year. In the Northern part of China, people still prefer eating dumplings on this day to celebrate that many taboos can be broken since this day. The shape of dumpling is like a gold ingot. Eating dumpling is also a way to celebrate the birthdayof the God of Fortune.
